We walked among the silent stones
listening to the Siren voice of Death.
Two transient souls
with nothing but thoughts to spin across the dark matter.
We would find in the rain
the drowning sorrow of the sky
and an echo of misery resounding in our shadowed hearts.
Sacred bits of memory are lost in the earth
as an empty grave opened up before us.
And I fell
while you wept the bitter tears of loneliness and fear.
I was buried there
and you walked away in the grieving rain.

Author's Comments

Writing this was a release and final farewell to a part of me that shall never be again. It is about transgression, the pain of personal growth and the sacrifice it requires.

Thankyou. I'm not sure if I communicated everything I was thinking and feeling at the time, but that doesn't really matter does it? I know what it means to me. As with any work of art, interpretation it subject to the emotional response of whomever is experiencing it.

I'm glad you enjoyed it and thankyou for adding it to your favorites. I truly enjoy sharing my poetry. While there may be an endless spectrum of emotions, I feel that there is empathy to be found in everything. No one person is an island unto themselves so there will always be someone who appreciates and understands the pain or joy etched into every word.

I understand, I'm really knew on DA but I also like it a lot, sharing my poetry. And yeah, there is actually more pple who can understand us that we think ! Though maybe not everyone can understand the pain or joy in your words, but I think a lot of pple will at least appreciate the beauty and the music of this composition of yours.

True, you can't reach everybody, but I write with no expectations. The point is to say what you have to say and leave the rest.
